What Vela does

Vela is a multi-channel listing editor. You connect one or more shops — Etsy, Shopify, eBay or Faire — and Vela loads every listing into a spreadsheet-style editor. From there you can:

1. Bulk edit titles, tags, descriptions, prices, variations and photos across any selection of listings.
2. Copy and sync listings from one marketplace to another, then keep editing them together.
3. Import and export CSV, for edits you would rather make in a spreadsheet.
4. Score and optimize each listing from F to A+ and rewrite titles and descriptions with AI.
5. Edit photos in Studio — background removal, cropping and AI-generated backgrounds.
6. Schedule publishing and updates for a set date.

The mental model: Vela is for shops with a catalogue problem, not a product problem. If changing a price means opening 300 listings one by one, Vela saves days. If you have 12 listings, it saves minutes.

Vela pricing in 2026

Vela prices per shop, by listing count, billed monthly. The figures below come from a September 2026 comparison that checked Vela's pricing in August 2026; Vela's Shopify app lists lower Shopify-only prices of $19.95 (Lite) and $29.95 (Plus).

Connecting more than one shop takes 20% off each shop. There is no yearly plan. Confirm current prices on Vela's own site before subscribing.

Insight: Because Vela charges per shop, the real cost for a seller on Etsy and Shopify is two subscriptions minus 20% — around $48 a month at the Lite level. Compare that with the hours you actually spend editing each month, not with the feature list.

When bulk editing actually pays off

Bulk editing is valuable at specific moments, not every week. These are the ones that justify a tool like Vela:

• A price change across the shop — after an Etsy fee change, a currency swing or a new pricing strategy. Raising 300 prices by 10% and rounding to .99 takes one pass instead of an afternoon.
• A seasonal title swap — adding "Christmas" to 80 gift listings in November and removing it in January.
• A tag clean-up — replacing a tag that stopped converting, such as swapping digital download for a more specific phrase, everywhere it appears.
• Expanding to a second marketplace — copying 200 Etsy listings to Shopify or Faire instead of rebuilding them.

If none of these happen to you more than twice a year, a paid bulk editor is a luxury. Etsy's own listing manager already lets you tick several listings and edit their titles, tags, prices or section together, which covers a small shop's occasional clean-up without any extra tool.

Where Vela is strong

Cross-marketplace work. No Etsy-only tool copies a listing to eBay or Faire and keeps the copies editable together. If you sell in two places, this is Vela's clearest advantage.

Scale. Vela is built for catalogues in the thousands, with published tiers up to 10,000 listings per shop.

Preview before publish. Changes appear in the editor before they go live, so a find-and-replace mistake is visible before buyers see it.

Where Vela falls short

No free plan. After seven days you pay, even for a shop with 20 listings.

Per-shop billing adds up. Two marketplaces cost two subscriptions.

Nothing for new products. Vela edits listings that exist. It does not research what to make, design the product or write a listing from scratch around a product file.

AI copy needs a human pass. AI-optimized titles tend to cram keywords. Keep the most important phrase in the first 40 characters and read every change before applying it.

Before you connect any bulk editor

Five checks take ten minutes and prevent most bulk-editing regrets:

1. Count your listings by type. Bulk edits work best on groups that share wording — all wedding printables, all 6×9 journals. If every listing is unique, bulk tools save less time than they promise.
2. Write the change as a rule. "Add | Printable PDF to the end of every planner title under 120 characters" is a rule a tool can apply safely. "Make titles better" is not.
3. Check Etsy's limits. Titles stop at 140 characters and tags at 20 characters each, 13 per listing. Edits that push past a limit fail or get cut off.
4. Pick a quiet day. Edited listings can move in search while Etsy re-ranks them, so avoid the week before a seasonal peak.
5. Keep a record. Note the date and the rule you applied, so you can match it to changes in Etsy Stats two weeks later and undo it if views fall.

Vela vs the alternatives
