Part of: Etsy SEO Guide 2026: Rank Your Listings · Etsy digital product maker
eRank is an Etsy SEO tool that estimates keyword search volume, audits listings and tracks competitor shops. The free plan allows 5 Keyword Tool searches a day; paid plans are Basic $5.99, Pro $9.99 and Expert $29.99 a month. It researches keywords well but does not design products.
eRank is a keyword and listing-analysis tool built only for Etsy. You type a phrase — say adhd planner printable — and it returns an estimated monthly Etsy search figure, a competition count (how many listings target it), a click-through estimate and a list of related long-tail phrases. Around that core sit a listing audit, a rank checker, a trend feed and competitor tracking.
The useful mental model: eRank tells you what buyers type, not what they buy. That distinction matters more than any feature list, because the most common way sellers waste eRank is by chasing high-volume words for products nobody converts on.
Three features do most of the real work for a digital-product shop:
eRank's own plans page lists four tiers. The limits are per day, which is the detail most reviews skip — and the one that decides whether the free plan is enough.
| Plan | Price per month | Keyword Tool searches / day | Keyword lists | Competitors tracked | Listing audits / day |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 5 |
| Basic | $5.99 ($5.50 billed yearly) | 100 | 25 | 5 | 50 |
| Pro | $9.99 ($7.92 billed yearly) | 200 | 50 | 50 | 200 |
| Expert | $29.99 ($22.50 billed yearly) | 500 | 100 | 200 | 500 |

Insight: Five searches a day sounds tiny, but it is five phrases, and one search returns dozens of related suggestions. A seller who batches research — one session a week, one seed phrase per product — can run a 30-listing shop on the free plan. The jump to Basic is about speed, not access.
This is the routine that makes 5 searches a day enough. Run it once per product, not once per listing.
budget planner.budget planner printable and paycheck budget planner, to see their own related phrases.Repeat weekly and a 30-listing shop is covered in about two months without paying. If you find yourself queueing phrases for tomorrow, that is the signal Basic's 100 searches a day is worth $5.99.
Comparing candidate phrases. Paste five ways of describing the same product — digital planner, ipad planner, goodnotes planner, undated digital planner, hyperlinked planner — and eRank ranks them by volume and competition in one view. That ranking is the single most valuable output, because it turns a guess into a choice.
Finding long-tail phrases. The related-keyword list surfaces three- and four-word phrases you would not think of, which is where a new shop can actually rank. A 40,000-listing phrase like wedding invitation is unwinnable; boho wedding invitation template might have 1,500 listings.
Auditing an existing shop. The listing audit catches mechanical mistakes fast: unused tag slots, tags over 20 characters, titles that repeat the same word. It will not tell you a title is wrong, only that it is incomplete.
It estimates; it does not measure sales. A keyword can show strong search volume because shoppers browse it, not because they buy. eRank cannot tell you which.
It can teach copying. Competitor tracking shows you exactly which tags a top seller uses. Pasting those tags onto your own listing is the most common eRank mistake: Etsy ranks you for the phrase, shows you to the buyer, and the buyer sees a product that does not match what they typed. Low click-through then pushes the listing down — the opposite of what you wanted.
It does not touch the product. eRank has nothing to say about whether your planner's page layout, colour palette or file format will convert. For a digital seller that is half the job.
| Tool | Best at | Free plan | Starting paid price | Designs the product |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| eRank | Etsy keyword volume and listing audits | Yes — 5 searches/day | $5.99/mo | No |
| EverBee | Estimating which products sell | Yes — first 10 results | $29.99/mo | No |
| Marmalead | Seasonality and engagement scoring | No | ~$19/mo | No |
| Alura | Keyword research plus listing editor | Limited | varies | No |
| Craftific.com | Designing, exporting and listing the product | Yes — no time limit | $19/mo (Pro) | Yes |
The honest summary: eRank is the cheapest serious Etsy keyword tool, and for keyword research alone it is better than Craftific. Craftific's Pro plan does include keyword ideas with monthly search volume, trend and season, but it does not use Etsy keyword or listing data — eRank does, and goes deeper. Where they differ is that Craftific makes the thing you are researching — the planner, journal, KDP interior or printable — and writes the listing for it.
If you are not ready to pay, three free methods cover most of the ground:
For the full method — seed phrases, validation and how to read competition — see our Etsy keyword research guide, part of the wider Etsy SEO guide.
Use eRank if you sell physical or digital products on Etsy, already have products you are happy with, and need to decide which words to put in titles and tags. At $5.99 a month, Basic is the best-value paid Etsy SEO tool available.
Skip it (for now) if you do not have a product yet. Keyword research on a product that does not exist produces a list of words, not a business. Make one product, list it, read its Etsy Stats for 30 days, then use eRank to sharpen what is already getting views.
Use both if you design and research: Craftific for making and listing the product, eRank for checking which phrases to put on it. They do not overlap much, which is exactly why they pair well.
Partly. eRank's Free plan has no time limit but caps the Keyword Tool at 5 searches a day, one keyword list and 50 analysed listings. That is enough to check a handful of tags for a new shop, not to research a whole catalogue.
Start on Free, and move to Basic ($5.99/month, 100 Keyword Tool searches a day) only when you hit the 5-search ceiling more than twice a week. Pro at $9.99 earns its keep once you track more than 5 competitors or list more than 200 items.
Treat it as relative, not absolute. eRank's numbers are estimates of Etsy search activity, so they are good for ranking ten candidate phrases against each other and poor for forecasting sales. A phrase showing 2,000 searches is reliably bigger than one showing 200; it does not mean 2,000 buyers.
eRank gives more for the money at the low end: a usable free plan and a $5.99 tier. Marmalead has no free plan and leans on seasonality and engagement scoring. Most sellers try eRank first and only switch if they want Marmalead's time-of-year data.
They answer different questions. eRank asks "which words do buyers type?"; EverBee asks "which products are already selling, and roughly how much?". We compare them head to head in eRank vs EverBee.
No — eRank is a long-running third-party tool that connects to your shop through Etsy's own sign-in. The bigger risk is the habit it encourages: copying a competitor's tags wholesale. Tags that describe someone else's product rank you for buyers who will not convert.
